Well done for reaching the final stage of your application. We're looking for people who can make a positive impact. So this will be a great opportunity to show us who you are and how you can reach your full potential. But we know how daunting these assessments can be, and we want you to be able to do your best. So this film will help you get ready with practical information and advice and a look at what to expect on the day.
Here are some steps that you should take to make sure you're fully prepared. Before your assessment, we'll send you the Google Meet link that you'll use to attend. If you're not familiar with Google Meet, try one out with family or friends first.
Check that the place you'll be joining us from has a good internet connection. And because you'll need to be able to concentrate and talk to other people, it should be somewhere you won't be interrupted or distracted.
Don't forget to make sure your camera and audio devices are working. Bring a notepad and pens, and a fully charged phone in case of connection issues.
There'll be no scheduled break, so bring some food and drink with you.
At PwC we dress for our day. For the assessment, we recommend business casual clothing.
Finally, it's important that you join on the right day and time. Let your recruiter know in advance if you're unable to make your selected assessment day. Our assessors put a lot of time into every application, so we really value time management and commitment in return.
In this online session, you'll be introduced to a project set within a fictitious global company - one that feels very similar to PwC. Here's a taster of the tasks you'll be involved in, although they may not be in this order. We'll give you some written information and data to analyse. You'll write your findings in an email. And you'll join a meeting to present those findings and discuss them with a colleague. This will help us assess a number of skills, including your writing, communication and problem-solving, as well as your numerical reasoning.
When you're presenting, try not to just read out what you've written - use short notes that you can expand on as you talk. Do your best to be clear and concise. But don't rush - take your time to make your point.
You'll take part in a team discussion with other candidates and PwC colleagues. It's a chance for everyone to give their thoughts and ideas about the project. So make sure you take part, and encourage others to voice their opinions, especially if someone is struggling to be heard. Make your point in a respectful way without speaking over others. And if you challenge an idea, be constructive and polite.
Remember: while this project isn't real, we'd like you to treat it as if it is.
Finally, you'll take part in an interview with a member of our team. We'll ask you questions about your understanding of the role, how you might approach particular situations, and why you want to join us. You should treat this like any face-to-face interview and be your authentic self. Don't prepare model answers and don't read from your notes - this is our chance to really get to know you.
You've now got all the information you need to prepare for the assessment and really make the most of this opportunity. If you do have any questions on the day, don't be afraid to ask.
We look forward to seeing you, and hope you enjoy this experience.
