Darren advises venture capital, private equity, real estate and other alternative asset managers on all aspects of their fund and “house” structures.

Darren has focussed on providing advice to the alternative fund management industry for the past twenty years, specialising in providing fund structuring advice from a GP perspective.

Darren’s major assignments in recent years have included spin outs of "in house" or institutionally sponsored teams to establish stand-alone fund management businesses, pan-European and emerging markets private equity fund structuring, restructuring and emigrating general partner and fund management entities, advising on tax issues presented by fundraising, establishment of debt funds by private equity and other sponsors, and implementing European holding structures for portfolio companies and other assets.  

Darren is a regular speaker on taxation matters, in particular recent legislative developments, at PwC’s alternatives themed events.  He is a chartered accountant and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
