John-Paul Barker

John-Paul (JP) has been the Regional Leader for PwC’s West and Wales region since July 2019.

Previously, he was the UK Strategy& Consulting Practice leader and a member of both the Global Strategy& leadership team and the UK Consulting Executive team. 

With more than 24 years of consulting experience across a wide range of industries, JP specialises in technology enabled strategic change programmes and previously led the UK Retail and Consumer Markets Consulting Practice.

He brings an analytical background as a chartered accountant, as well as a deep understanding of the people aspects of major business change. He has led programmes in finance, IT, procurement and sales and has worked with a wide range of clients in the telecommunications, energy, pharmaceutical, retail, consumer products, and service industries.

JP joined PwC in September 1995 and spent more than three years completing internal and external audit and advisory work in the Cardiff office before joining the Management Consulting practice in London. In 2003 he moved to PwC in Melbourne, Australia, for two years before returning to Consulting in 2005 in the UK to focus on helping clients to transform their operating models.

JP holds a Master’s of Science in Consulting and Coaching for Change from HEC and Said Business School, Oxford. He also holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from Exeter University.
