Latika Sharma

Head of Intellectual Property and Commercial practice, PwC United Kingdom

Latika leads our intellectual property and commercial team in the UK, where she focuses on traditional work in those fields alongside developing some unique skills and niche expertise within these specialisms.

Latika specialises in all aspects of intellectual property, covering exploitation/licensing, protection strategies, portfolio management and disputes. Working alongside IP experts in other parts of PwC, she has also developed a unique practice in IP structuring (including intragroup IP migrations and R&D credit claims), ownership investigations (particularly beneficial ownership and goodwill), IP commercialisation, and IP audits and risk reviews (testing IP processes and controls).

I’m fortunate to work with an exceptionally talented team, an incredible range of legal and non-legal experts, and an exciting and varied set of clients. We have fun, we look after each other and we are passionate about our work. I joined PwC believing that I could do the best work here for inspiring clients and I am proud of just how true that is.

Latika also has vast experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts, regularly advising clients on distribution, manufacturing, agency, commissionaire, R&D, collaboration, franchising and numerous other agreements. Again working with other parts of PwC, Latika has also developed an unrivalled practice helping groups restructure their operating model/supply chain, testing feasibility, developing complex intragroup agreements and identifying and dealing with the range of legal issues impacted by changes to the business model.

Latika has more than 25 years’ experience specialising in these fields, at both PwC and (prior to that) Hogan Lovells. She is a practising solicitor in England & Wales, and has a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Bristol.
