Director for Tax and Head of Leeds Private Client Tax, PwC United Kingdom
Lucy has a diverse role and advises a wide range of individuals and businesses, but her areas of specialism are professional partnerships (mainly law firms), private client tax and private business.
Lucy is the tax leader of PwC's UK Professional Partnership network, is heavily involved in the PwC Law Firm's Survey and can often be found presenting to law firm boards on how they compare to others in the sector. Her client portfolio is largely made up of law firms and other professional partnerships and she spends the majority of her time helping UK headquartered clients with tax advisory and compliance matters. Lucy regularly works on international structuring projects and ad-hoc technical queries and has been involved in the sale of three law firms. Increasingly, however, she spends her time looking at business advisory more widely and has spent a lot of time with firms looking at their strategy and presenting to the whole partner group at their strategy days.
Lucy also advises wealthy individuals and private business owners on their personal tax, inheritance tax and capital gains tax position as well as structuring their personal and business affairs and dealing with transactions. Recent projects include:
- Business sales
- Business restructures
- Inheritance tax planning
- Succession planning
- Employee incentives and reward
