UK Financial Services Deals Leader, Partner, PwC United Kingdom
Mike leads the UK firm’s Financial Services Deals Practice. He has over twenty years of experience working with management teams in the development and delivery of large transactions or complex programmes of change. He has recently completed the operational transformation of a major UK bank, advising on all areas from asset strategy and funding plans, to detailed operating model development and fintech strategy.
During the GFC Mike led the operational transformation programme for Allied Irish bank, over a two year period overseeing the wholesale change of its business and operations. Mike has subsequently led the delivery of numerous transformation programmes across a number of European banks and insurers, delivering sustainable economic returns through a combination of strategic refocus, step changed productivity and improved financial control.
Currently, Mike is advising one of Europe’s largest Life businesses on the implementation of an enterprise wide programme of change that will step change the quality of their operational infrastructure, providing the ability to expand sustainably and profitably on a pan global basis.
Mike coordinates PwC’s European bank transformation work, focusing on building profitable growth strategies through effective integration of Fintech capability to the business of established institutions. He frequently liaises with regulators and governments on the practical implementation of regulatory change to Institutions; he is currently managing the exit of the UK Government's legacy Financial services commitments through UKAR.
Mike speaks publicly on large scale transformation programmes across Financial services; frequently organising private events for groups of FTSE 100 executives. Mike is a guest lecturer on Transformation and Restructuring at a number of Business Schools including LBS.
