Before joining the Indirect Tax Disputes team, Richard was an officer at HMRC Solicitor’s Office, where he advocated a variety of VAT cases at the First-tier Tribunal. Richard has a range of experience with VAT technical issues and a good understanding of HMRC’s approach to dispute resolution, as well as the process for lodging appeals through the tribunals.

Since joining the Indirect Tax Disputes team, Richard has been involved in the early stages of disputes with HMRC in relation to a variety of landfill tax claims.
