Zubin Randeria

Zubin Randeria

ESG Leader, PwC United Kingdom

Advisor to businesses on sustainability, risk and business restructuring and turnaround.

Zubin leads PwC's ESG business, helping organisations grow responsibly and sustainably, with a particular focus on the transformation to net zero carbon emissions and developing transparency in the capital markets to help investors allocate capital efficiently.

"By 2026, more than £1 in every £5 invested globally is expected to be invested under an ESG mandate. This is the opportunity for the financial markets to allocate capital to responsible, clean, well managed businesses. As this trend continues, the sheer weight of money directed to responsible businesses can have a profound impact on the climate challenge facing the planet. It will demand an entirely new generation of responsible leaders."

He is part of the executive leadership team for Risk, one of PwC’s five lines of service, with particular focus on its technology businesses.

In recent years he has led PwC’s cyber security practice to grow by 100% - helping businesses understand the information security risks they face, build and assure cyber defences and deal with breaches.

For much of his career he has worked both as a hands-on company manager and as an adviser helping businesses going through turnaround and transformation. He has acted as Chief Restructuring Officer in both public and private companies to fix their problems, turn around or sell under-performing businesses, define value-creating strategies and manage external financiers across the capital structure. He has particular experience helping businesses with significant defined benefit pensions deficits.

Zubin graduated from the University of Bristol with a first class honours degree in Computer Systems Engineering. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He joined the partnership in 2002, left in 2011 to turn around a FTSE PLC, and rejoined the partnership in 2014.
