Workforce Budget Webcast
Tue, Nov 12, 2024 10:02 AM GMT{LOCAL_TZ}
There was a lot in the Chancellor's Autumn Budget which impacts the workforce. We saw a significant increase in employer's National Insurance contributions and changes to the threshold at which employer's start to pay National Insurance. This, alongside the increase to the National Living Wage (NLW) and the proposals set out in the Employment Rights Bill a few weeks ago, mean that the cost of labour will rise sharply in April, impacting organisations in different ways.
At the other end of the scale, the changes to the Non-Dom tax regime and Capital Gains tax thresholds will impact higher paid individuals. All of this means companies will have to start thinking more broadly about workforce strategy, reward (in particular, pay compression), and where to invest given the challenge of skills scarcity and productivity.
During this webcast our panel will walk you through the latest announcements and put them into the context of long-term industrial strategy. We'll set out the key steps that employers need to take now to understand and manage the impact of these changes, and you'll have the opportunity to put your questions to our experts.
