Daniel Chan has been appointed Charities Leader for PwC UK as the firm continues to invest in the support it provides to the charity and voluntary sector.
Daniel, who has recently been promoted to partner after almost 13 years with the firm, is a specialist in leading audits for large, high profile charities, as well as working with FTSE 100 clients. He is also Chair of the ICAEW Charity Committee, a member of the Charities SORP Committee and a member of the CIPFA Charities and Public Benefit Entities Forum.
After more than five years as Charities Leader, Aidan Sutton will hand over the role to Daniel, who is also the audit leader within the Government & Health Industries business.
PwC works with many charities throughout the UK across its audit, risk, tax, consulting and deals practices. This includes helping to ensure transparency and reliability is at the heart of the country’s most purposeful organisations through its audits. Among the iconic charities PwC works with are Cancer Research UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, MSI Reproductive Choices, St John Ambulance, The Prince’s Trust and WaterAid.
Daniel is at the forefront of the work PwC does to encourage charities to invest in good practice reporting, particularly as the partner sponsor for the Charities Award as part of PwC’s Building Trust Awards.
Daniel is also a Trustee and the Honorary Treasurer of UK Youth, a national youth charity, and the Senior Independent Governor of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London.
He was awarded an MBE in HM The King's Birthday Honours 2023 for services to Charity and to Young People.
