Ben Pykett

PwC has named Ben Pykett as the Market Senior Partner for its Bristol practice, replacing Tom Ayerst, who will continue to lead the firm’s Deals practice in the West of England.

Ben, who has been at PwC for nine years, leads the firm’s Consulting Practice in Wales and the West of England and specialises in supporting public sector clients through complex transformation programmes and strategy interventions. Prior to joining PwC in 2015, he held a number of senior roles in local government. Born and brought up in West Wales and having started his career at Cornwall Council, Ben has a long association with Bristol and the South West and moved to the city full time when he first joined PwC.

The 700 PwC staff based at Two Glass Wharf in Bristol work across its lines of service - Audit, Tax, Risk, Deals and Consulting - with a particular focus on Aerospace, Defence and Security.

Ben Pykett, Market Senior Partner for PwC in Bristol, said:

“It’s an exciting time to take on the leadership of our Bristol office; at Two Glass Wharf we are at the heart of one of the biggest city centre regeneration projects in the UK. Bristol is one of the most highly-skilled cities in the country; unlocking that potential could be transformational for the wider region.

“PwC has an important role to play in supporting Bristol’s growth, bringing together public and private sector leaders to break down barriers to growth: pressure on housing and transport infrastructure, skills development and social mobility. In my new role, I look forward to leveraging PwC’s capabilities to support growth in the South West.”

David Morris, Regional Market Leader for the Central Region, PwC, said:

“Ben has a deep understanding of the challenges facing our clients in the South West, and I’m glad to welcome him to the leadership team for PwC in the Central region.

As the Government works to unlock productivity and growth across the regions, local leaders will need to work together to make the most of the South West’s strength in critical sectors such as professional and financial services and defence, and its potential to contribute to the UK’s energy transition. Ben’s experience with local authorities and devolved leaders makes him well-placed to contribute to and lead those conversations.”
