Alitalia was incorporated on 16 September 1946 under the laws of the Republic of Italy and registered in the Company Register, Court of Rome, Republic of Italy, under company number 2029/46. Alitalia’s registered office was at Viale A Marchetti, 111 00148, Rome, Italy. Alitalia was registered as an overseas company under the laws of England Wales on 9 December 1953 (number FC004305) with a registered branch at Central House, Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 1HY (number BR001133).
On 5 September 2008, Alitalia was admitted to the Extraordinary Administration procedure for large companies under the provisions of the aforementioned law by the Court of Rome. Professor Avv. Augusto Fantozzi was appointed as the Company’s administrator. He was later replaced with Professor Avv. Stefano Ambrosini, Professor Avv. Gianluca Brancadoro and Professor Dott. Giovanni Fiori, who are the current administrators of Alitalia in Italy. These are the main proceedings.
On 27 November 2008, a winding-up petition was presented to the High Court of Justice in respect of the UK company and a winding-up order on that petition was made on 22 January 2009 (“the secondary proceedings”).
Ross Connock and Patrick Boyden were initially appointed as Liquidators of the secondary proceedings on 16 June 2009, with Nicolas Reed replacing Patrick Boyden on 20 March 2012, and Rob Lewis replacing Nicholas Reed on 26 September 2013.
