Mike Denny and Peter Dickens of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP were appointed as joint administrators of the Companies on 3 August 2020.
The Companies operated Drayton Manor Park which is a family-run theme park based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The park offers over 50 rides, Thomas Land, a zoo, various retail and catering outlets and a 4* star hotel with 148 bedrooms and conference facilities (the "Park").
Immediately following their appointment, the joint administrators successfully completed the sale of all of the Companies’ business and assets to a wholly owned subsidiary of Looping Parks UK Limited ("Looping"). Looping is a European group of regional leisure parks with 15 parks across the UK, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Portugal. In the UK, it currently owns West Midlands Safari Park and Pleasurewood Hills.
The sale has secured the ongoing employment of all of the Companies' employees who have transferred to the new business as part of the sale and the Park will continue to trade and operate as normal. In particular, all advance customer bookings with the Park will continue to be honoured as follows:
(a) Customers with advance tickets / season passes / vouchers for Park admission
All advance tickets / season passes / vouchers are being honoured as part of the sale and you should continue to attend the Park as planned.
(b) Customers with advance bookings / existing reservations at the Park's hotel
All existing bookings and deposits for hotel reservations, conference meetings and events are being honoured as part of the sale and you should continue with your bookings as planned.
