Award winning efforts

We didn’t just survive in a challenging year, we thrived. Throughout the last year our people, our teams and our firm has been recognised both nationally and regionally with a variety of awards and below we highlight a number of these achievements.

National wins 

UK Social Mobility Awards 2020

For a second year running we were named Organisation of the Year at the UK Social Mobility Awards (SOMOs).

The Organisation of the Year award recognised our focus on social mobility, including our community engagement programme, work experience placements for disadvantaged students, support for refugees, our investment in the Bradford Opportunity Area, as well as our Tech Degree Apprenticeship programme. WeAreTheCity Rising Star Awards 2021

The Rising Star Awards were introduced to showcase the UK pipeline of female talent below management and celebrates men who are championing women and gender balance. Our PwC winners were: 

  • Ann Hodson, who won the WeAreTheCity Rising Star - EA & PA 2021 Award

  • Amarbir Dhesi, Sian Toussaint and Neeru Verma all won in the Insurance category

  • Chloe Priestley in the Professional Services category

  • Tom Robb, Partner in Audit, who won in the Men for Gender Balance category

TechWomen100 Awards 2020

Held by WeAreTechWomen, the awards acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of remarkable women in the tech sector, covering a wide range of roles such as Quantitative Analyst, Data Scientist, Analytical Measurement Technologies Engineer, Prototyping Engineer and Assistant Professor. Four PwC women won in the ‘Individual’ category: 

  • Becky Hartley - Women In Tech Programme Manager

  • Kayla Lawrie - Service Design Lead for UK IT

  • Snezhana Ilieva - Manager, Technology, Data & Analytics

  • Temi Nelson - Agile Delivery Lead

Women in Accountancy and Finance Awards 2020

We picked up five awards at the Women in Accounting and Finance Awards 2020 which honours the inspirational achievements of women across all segments of accountancy. Our wins were: 

  • Deepti Vohra, a Partner in our Audit practice - Female Diversity Champion of the Year award

  • Gabrielle Cox - Rising Star Award

  • Saira Choudhry - Role Model of the Year - Practice National and Global award

  • Gilly Lord - Outstanding Achievement award

  • And our UK Audit practice also picked up the Contribution to Gender Diversity award

Women in Finance Awards 2020 

The Women in Finance Awards, supports the industry in its mission to move the dial on diversity and inclusion by showcasing the sector’s advocates, role models and allies. Khayala Eyalazova, in our Sales team, won the Advocate of the Year Award for her commitment to empowering women and creating change in the workplace.

B2B Marketing Awards 2020

The B2B Marketing Awards are the largest and most prestigious marketing awards in the business-to-business (B2B) field, designed to honour the most innovative, creative, and forward-thinking marketers and their campaigns. 

Our in-house marketing team was shortlisted in five categories and went on to win two awards: a Silver Award for 'Best lead generation or nurturing campaign' for the fantastic Golden Quarter campaign and the Gold Award for B2B Marketing Team of the Year. 

Working Mums Top Employer Awards 2021

This year’s Working Mums Top Employer Awards focused on celebrating best practice adopted during the coronavirus pandemic, and the categories are considered key areas for success during the pandemic. PwC picked up the Best Flexible Working Award for our demonstration of flexibility and care throughout the pandemic. 

The top 25 D&I re/insurance champions — Diversity and Inclusion Report 2021

Each year, Intelligent Insurer selects its top 25 D&I champions in the re/insurance industry to showcase leaders who are making a mark in this area and highlight their efforts in supporting and promoting D&I in their organisations and in the wider market. PwC’s Maurice Rose was recognised for his work as Chair of ‘Link’, the LGBT Insurance Network.

Employee Experience Awards 2021

In the Employee Health and Wellbeing category, one of our Deals teams won the silver award for their work on ‘#ProjectMe’, which aims to empower and support staff with a range of tools and skills which help maintain good health and wellbeing habits, right from the outset. 

TARGETjobs Awards 2020

Jordan Long who sits in our Consulting practice placed 2nd for 'The Apprentice of the Year Award 2020' as part of the TARGETjobs Awards, the largest early careers recruitment awards in the UK.

Regional wins

Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards 2020

These awards recognise the city region's rising stars from across a broad range of sectors and our wins were as follows:

  • Best Large Employer of the Year for our Technology Degree Apprenticeship, which the Student Recruitment team runs in partnership with the University of Birmingham

  • Best Education Engagement for our Midlands Schools Engagement work

  • Apprentice of the Year (Tech, Digital and Creative Industries) category - Lauren Alie, one of our Technology Degree Apprentices at the University of Birmingham took home this title

Digital Tech (for Good) Awards 2021

Our team in Scotland, led by Risk Director Marianne Breen-Hart, won the Social Impact category at the Digital Tech (for Good) Awards 2021, organised by Scotland IS – the member group for Scotland’s digital technology sector.

The award was for our work with the Scottish Tech Army, a group of volunteers established at the onset of the pandemic to provide support to businesses with an urgent requirement to upgrade their technology. Our team of 27 volunteers delivered 580 hours of volunteering and helped digitally upskill 28 people through virtual training.

West Midlands PA Awards 2020

Organised by the PA Forum, the West Midlands PA Awards brings together over 1000 admin professionals (Personal, Executive and Virtual Assistants, Office Managers and Admin Support teams) to celebrate the achievements of over 100 finalists and 25 winners over the past few years. We won the Team B2 Team of the Year award last year.
