PwC was named Accountancy Firm of the Year at the 2021 City A.M. Awards.
We created a launch film ‘Think Again’ to kick-off the Open Mind training, which helped challenge ourselves about the impact of our words, actions and behaviours. The film won two awards at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards.
Our training materials also won three awards at the EVCOM London Film awards which recognise outstanding achievement in the craft and production of corporate film.
We won Leadership of the Year at the 2021 UK Social Mobility Awards (SOMOs). This year we took the important step to include our social mobility pay gap and socio-economic diversity data in our Annual Report - one of the first firms to do so. It showed us the work we have ahead of us, and helped to demonstrate to others the importance of measuring representation, diversity and pay data within their own businesses.
We were named as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape report. An excerpt from the report states that, “Since it began investing in its cloud business in 2007, PwC's cloud professional services strategy has remained constant — embed cloud engineering and innovation capabilities across service lines in support of business transformation.”
The Rising Star Awards were introduced to showcase the UK pipeline of female talent below management and celebrates men who are championing women and gender balance. Our PwC winners were Aneesa Sharif, Candida Paiva and Nadia Kruger.

Sheridan Ash, Technology Innovation Leader at PwC and the founder and co-CEO of Tech She Can (which gained charity status in recent months) was named as one of the UK’s 50 Most Influential Women in Tech by Computer Weekly.
Each year, as Computer Weekly compiles its list of the 50 Most Influential Women in UK Tech. This year it featured Maria Axente, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI for Good lead at PwC where she is responsible for advising clients on responsible use of AI, and ensuring ethical development of PwC AI operations, products and services.
Temi Nelson, IT Consultancy Lead from our Tech Central team won The Employee of the Year award. Grace Kayode, Senior Associate in PwC Consulting’s Private Tech Salesforce team won the Rising Star award; this award recognises young professionals under the age of 30 who demonstrate passion, innovation and commitment to energising and driving progress in the technology sector.
The DataIQ 100 profiles the most important and influential people in data-driven businesses and the innovators who support them. The list is curated through extensive research by DataIQ based on numerous criteria. Sunil Patel, PwC UK’s Chief Data Officer was named on the list.
Diva Magazine’s LGBTQI Network of the Year Award celebrates the organisations uplifting and supporting LGBTQI women and non-binary people in the workplace. PwC’s LGBTQI+ network Shine was Highly Commended in this category.
Suwei Jiang, the first mainland Chinese person admitted into partnership in a Big Four UK firm was presented with the Freedom of the City at the Guildhall. Suwei was nominated by PwC’s Sir Charles Bowman and Sir William Russell, two former Lord Mayors of the City of London.
The Inside Out Awards celebrate in-house teams’ contribution, naming us winners in two categories in November 2021. Tanya Mudway, Senior Motion Graphic Designer won in the Outstanding Contribution category while Jordi Williams, Integrated Designer, won the Rising Star award.

Organised by the PA Forum, the West Midlands PA Awards brings together over 1000 admin professionals (Personal, Executive and Virtual Assistants, Office Managers and Admin Support teams) to celebrate the achievements of over 100 finalists and 25 winners over the past few years. This year, Emese Burnip was recognised for making a difference and championing sustainability when she was named ‘CSR Champion of the Year’.
The Responsible Business Network named PwC NI as the winner of its Investing in your Community Award category, for their work in suicide prevention.
PwC’s Corporate Finance team won in a number of categories at the North East Dealmakers Awards:
