Award-winning creativity

In-house creative teams are unique in how they add value to the brands and firms they work within, although the impact of their work is not always recognised by the wider creative industry. The Inside Out Awards celebrate in-house teams’ contribution, naming us winners in two categories in November 2020.

Setting the scene

We’re proud of how we’ve pivoted swiftly to respond to clients’ needs amid the pandemic. This has been underpinned by the efforts of our internal teams.

Our ‘digital proposals’ solution which is a secure and highly confidential communication tool and information hub used during bidding processes won us the ‘Best digital experience’ award. The second category where we found success was in ‘Outstanding contribution’, where our specialist designer Vicky Collins was the winner.

How we helped

The pandemic demanded a near-overnight shift to virtual collaboration, including in the fast-paced bids and proposals space. We needed a digital solution that was simple, swift and slick, with an intuitive content management system to respond to developing client needs. The third-party solution that our creative team introduced enables us to develop templated but tailorable microsites within days; this allows us to adapt quickly and fluidly in a world where meetings, pitches and content delivery have become virtual.

By visualising content through a digital lens, we have been able to tell the PwC story to great effect through the use of improved content and rich media, in the absence of in-person pitches and presentations. As a fully digital solution, our digital proposals create a rich and vivid experience for our clients, allowing them to gain a fuller picture of who we are and why working with us would benefit them in myriad ways.

Elsewhere, in the ‘Outstanding contribution’ category, specialist designer Vicky Collins’ skills shone. Having been with the firm for over 25 years, Vicky is an institution and has contributed to our highest profile projects for the firm, across marketing campaigns, Deals (work relating to mergers, acquisitions, restructuring), bids and proposals, and internal communications. Her experience, team-spirit, work ethic and creativity are exemplary and her recognition is well deserved.

James Bassett

“There has been a shift in how we deliver digital proposals and other sales content to our clients. In-house creative teams are invaluable in creating brand experiences that are aligned with our purpose, values, strategy and creative vision.”

James Bassett, Head of Creative Centre of Excellence, PwC UK

Making a difference

Our digital proposals are now the standard format for delivering content throughout the sales cycle — from providing the client with information, attachments and relaying workshop feedback, to delivering the proposal and virtual pitch presentations.

The awards are not just a recognition of the creativity to be found within the firm as our people come together as a community of solvers, they are also exemplary of our commitment to delivering exceptional client outcomes and leveraging technology in the process.
