The demand for the services of our dedicated Sustainability practice has increased dramatically this year.
After launching with over 200 specialists, our Sustainability team continues to grow as the pace of change accelerates.
We continue to upskill our people across the business to build ESG into the heart of our client services.
We helped the UK Government deliver the Climate Finance Accelerator, which was set up to help middle-income countries achieve their national climate plans.
And we worked with the Science Based Targets initiative to provide the building sector with specific emission reduction targets to help the sector accelerate the transition to a net zero economy.
These are just some of the examples of the work our incredible team have achieved in the past year and, with continuing investment, there’s more to come.

Over the course of the past year, we’ve continued to see the growing impact of climate change on our lives. Encouragingly, we are also seeing increased energy and investment focussed on tackling the challenges our society faces.
And that is where PwC is helping. Our global strategy is based on finding sustained outcomes to some of today’s most complex challenges.
In this last year, we’ve published ground-breaking reports on how businesses can transition to net zero in a way that is just and fair for all of society.
We’ve engaged policymakers and businesses.
And we’ve also been on the ground in Egypt at COP27, and in Montreal for COP15, the UN Biodiversity Conference, where we saw the historic Kunming-Montreal pact aimed at protecting nature and biodiversity.
In this year’s Annual Report you can read how we launched our own Centre for Nature Positive Business, and the steps we are taking on our transition to net zero - from how we are working with our suppliers to the opening of an edible garden on the roof of our London office.
