Hi there, I’m Carl Sizer, Head of Regions at PwC UK.
This year, we kept our focus on redressing regional inequality and on driving sustainable growth across the UK.
Our regional presence is fundamental to delivering our Purpose and almost 11,500 of our people now call an office outside of London their local office - that’s an indicator of our commitment to encouraging social mobility and to creating quality jobs in the regions.
Of course, it’s not just about offices and our people, it’s about the work we do with clients up and down the country - whether that’s helping private business attract international investment, supporting local authorities with recovery strategies, or bringing stakeholders together to plan for a greener, fairer future.
Action to support levelling up across the regions was a strong feature of our work this year, with a focus on technology, skills, and enabling the recovery.
The year ahead will see the UK in the international spotlight - with the climate summit in Glasgow this November, and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham next year.
Our firm is proud to be sponsoring this iconic event as the aims of the Games align well with our own purpose - particularly in how we can contribute to society and empower the communities in which we work.
I’m excited about how we can help maximise the positive social and economic impact of these events, alongside our continued regional investments in training, talent and technology.
