PwC has confirmed its commitment to supporting economic growth outside of London by opening a new Watford office to serve clients in the region.
Bringing together teams from Uxbridge and St Albans, PwC’s new Watford base at 40 Clarendon Road, puts the firm at the centre of a growing and diverse community. From this new hub, the firm can continue to expand outside of London, providing services to clients and communities in Beds, Herts, Bucks, North and West London, South Essex and beyond.
A new 28,000 sq ft. space has been created that is fit for the future of work and will provide a first-class environment for clients, colleagues and local communities. While this will become PwC’s base in the local area, the events of this year have shown the need for flexible ways of working. This new office will meet that need by acting as a tech-enabled space for communities, clients and PwC teams to meet and do business in person or virtually, demonstrating the benefits that a balance between office and home working can bring.
Over 600 of our people will be based in the new Watford office, with plans to grow this further. The new office is part of PwC’s firmwide strategy to deliver a broader range of services in larger offices outside London. More than half of the 22,000 PwC employees in the UK are based outside London and 2,000 are based across the South East.
Kevin Ellis, Chairman and Senior Partner, PwC UK said:
“It’s great to be opening a new office in Watford and shows the value we place on having a strong regional presence. The events of the last year have highlighted the importance of office life, alongside remote working, to best support our people, clients and communities. This hub will ensure the best of both worlds.
“This new office complements our other investments across the UK, which include new offices in Leeds, Manchester, Bradford and Birmingham. We will continue to invest and develop our workforce across the UK, creating inclusive employment and training opportunities for people from all backgrounds.”
Caroline Bevan, PwC Watford Market Senior Partner commented:
“I’m really excited for us to be joining Watford’s business community through our new office at 40 Clarendon Road. This premier location will provide an exceptional base for us to connect with our phenomenal clients, communities and people from across our wide reaching geography.
“While the traditional office model may have been transformed as a result of the pandemic, we firmly believe there is still a place for local offices, allowing teams the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and clients, and to focus on local economies. We remain committed to recruiting local talent and continuing to diversify our skills and capabilities.”
