Building trust in drones - risk and rewards video transcript

Drones present a significant opportunity.

They have the power to revolutionise transport, make our neighbourhoods safer and help businesses run more efficiently.

We are seeing drones used to deliver urgent medical supplies. Picture a time when organs for transplant can be moved quickly around the country without the risk of delays on the road, or the expense of helicopters.

Today, drones are  quickly sent into hostile environments that could be dangerous for people to access. From assessing a fire, or search and rescue at sea, they are a powerful tool for those saving lives.

The police use drones for mobile surveillance at events allowing for better understanding and allocation of resources.

But drones aren’t just eyes in the sky. And nor are they merely carriers. They can collect data and connect with applications that will help businesses make smarter decisions.

Farmers can benefit from the ability to quickly survey crops and analyse data in ways they can help improve productivity and more sustainable ways of farming.

They can be used to survey building sites, roofing or oil rigs at height. All the time reducing cost and risk to life. At PwC we help our clients to capitalise on these opportunities and have shown how they can reduce cost and speed up important building inspections.

Interest in drones is already on the rise and taking them from the exception to acceptance is a journey. We believe almost any organisation can find a beneficial use for drones. Whether it’s a sports broadcaster looking to give fans a fresh perspective on a game, or an NGO looking to insert aid into an area of natural disaster.

At PwC we’re ready to help you understand how drones can shape the future of your business.
