Adam Seres, Zelf Hussain and Peter Dickens of PwC were appointed as Joint Administrators of The Floor Room Limited – in administration (“the Company”) on 9 August 2024.
The Company is a British retail supplier of carpets and flooring products and is a subsidiary of Nestware Holdings Ltd. Founded in 2023, the Company trades through concessions in 34 John Lewis stores, one dedicated store in London and online, and has 201 employees.
The Company has historically been operationally reliant upon Carpetright Limited, which itself was placed into Administration on 22 July 2024. Prior to the Joint Administrators appointment, the Company’s management team exhausted options to secure further funding or a potential sale of the business and assets.
On appointment, the Joint Administrators made the majority of employees redundant and closed all concessions / stores with immediate effect. Certain Head Office staff will be retained for a short period to support in winding down the Company’s affairs.
Update- March 2025
As detailed in the Joint Administrators most recent progress report dated 7 March 2025, please see below an update on how much creditors may receive:
First Ranking Preferential Creditors ( mainly employees)
Based on current information, we think that the level of First ranking preferential claims will be c.£78k.
We think we’ll be able to pay the First ranking preferential creditors in full based on what we know currently. This dividend will be paid within the next four months.
Please note that any employee that has a preferential claim does not need to contact us or take any action at this stage. We will calculate your claim for you and send you a copy of your claim, along with guidance on any further action or information we may require.
Secondary preferential creditors (HMRC)
The directors’ statement of affairs showed Secondary preferential creditor claims of £277,003, however we have received a claim from HMRC in the sum of £92,517.
We don’t think there will be any dividend for Secondary preferential creditors due to lack of available funds.
Unsecured creditors
Based on what we know currently, we don't think there will be any dividend for Unsecured creditors.
Adam Seres, Zelf Hussain and Peter Dickens have been appointed as Joint Administrators of The Floor Room Limited to manage its affairs, business and property as its agents and without personal liability.
