About me

I started my journey at PwC UK back in 2006, when I joined as an Audit Graduate in Hull. I have worked across 3 different offices and this has exposed me to a broad range of clients. I’ve also had the opportunity to go on a year-long client secondment when I was a Manager. In 2022 I joined the Partnership, which was a very proud moment.

What impact have role models had on your career?

I really think it's critical to have visible female role models in the workplace. It’s been fantastic to see an increase of women in senior positions at PwC and as I progressed, it was encouraging to see this balance in those around me.

I’ve benefited from some wonderful role models and sponsors throughout my career, who have provided me with great opportunities and guidance. I really care about the people I work with and it’s really important for me to do the same now I’m in this position.

How does PwC's empowered flexibility help balance your work and personal life?

I’m a mum to two boys, Benjamin and William - the everyday flexibility at PwC is fantastic and the support of my colleagues on my return from maternity leave was invaluable to me. Since having my boys, I have worked part-time (four days a week) and I’ve had to ensure that I put appropriate boundaries in place to make this work, so that I’m present for my family on my non-working days. Additionally, it’s really important for me to carve out time for some self-care - something we’re not always good at when we have busy careers and family life.

Everyday flexibility means it’s rare for me to miss moments in my children’s lives such as the nativity play. It’s a real privilege that I get to enjoy these important events and I don’t have to choose between these moments, or my career. I genuinely believe you can have a successful career at PwC and be a present mum.

What makes PwC distinctive to you?

There’s a number of things that stand out to me. The people at PwC are fantastic and we have a very diverse, passionate and engaging team. During different periods of life, your priorities and circumstances can and do change. I’ve always valued the encouragement and sponsorship I’ve received at PwC and I’m very lucky to be able to say that I’ve always felt supported.
