About me

I'm an Associate in Internal Audit in the Birmingham office, where I work with a diverse range of clients across the public and private sectors. I joined the firm after earning a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Warwick. My role allows me to blend analytical skills with strategic insights.

Tell us about joining PwC?

My first experience with PwC was when I completed their Women in Business programme, a three-day paid opportunity that helped give me an insight to what a career at PwC could look like.

It was this experience that led me to apply for a full-time position through their graduate programme. The application and onboarding were straightforward and I felt well-supported throughout.

For students and graduates considering applying, my advice is to be proactive and curious. Research the firm thoroughly to understand its values and services, and tailor your application to highlight how your skills and behaviours align with these. Take advantage of networking opportunities, such as career fairs and PwC events, to connect with current employees and gain insights into the company culture. Emphasise your willingness to learn and adapt, as PwC values growth and innovation. Applying to PwC offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment where you can develop professionally and make a meaningful impact.

Tell us about your role and what you do?

In my role at PwC, I am based in the Internal Audit function within the Risk line of service. My biggest challenge has been balancing the demands of studying for my accounting qualification while working full-time. It requires effective time management and prioritisation to ensure I meet both academic and professional commitments. Luckily the firm provides support and resources, but it’s crucial to stay organised and proactive. Despite the challenges, this balancing act has been rewarding, allowing me to apply new skills in real-time and grow both academically and professionally.

Which part of the company value do you relate to the most?

The company value I relate to the most here at PwC is the commitment to professional growth and empowerment. I've been supported through continuous learning opportunities and mentorship, which have been instrumental in my development. This empowerment has enabled me to take on challenging projects where I've made a tangible difference by delivering innovative solutions to clients. I feel valued through regular feedback and recognition, which motivates me to contribute effectively and align my work with the company’s values. This supportive environment fosters both personal and professional growth.
