Working in Enterprises

Our Enterprises business leads the drive for growth and innovation across Risk enabling our high growth areas to have the space and breadth to rapidly scale.

This business currently comprises four diverse key growth areas: PwC Sustainability, Marketer & Media Owner, Enterprise Business Applications, and Customer Insights.

At PwC, working in Sustainability is an opportunity to have a purposeful career to positively contribute to some of the most pressing problems of our time by helping to reshape the whole economy and the society in which we live.

In Risk we do this by helping organisations transform sustainably in a number of ways: build trust in the climate transition through credible non-financial and climate reporting; ensuring the transition to Net Zero is fair; and ensuring our own business is ready to meet the challenge and sharing this story with our clients.

Our Sustainability practice is market-leading with over 20 years’ experience in leading and transforming clients’ approaches to sustainability.

Our Sustainability services are focussed on six key areas:

Define sustainability strategy - we partner with our clients to help them define their ESG strategy, ensuring it is commercially robust.

Transform to Net Zero - we help our clients establish their baseline, define their targets and set a strategy to re-imagine their organisation, combining our deep expertise with technology to deliver net zero in a way that is responsible and achievable.

Report on progress - we help our clients put in the right systems, report on progress and get ahead of regulation to turn sustainability reporting into a source of value creation, rather than compliance.

Assess impact - we support our clients in identifying, measuring and assessing the materiality of their impact across all stages of the value chain - from carbon emissions, to water and waste, diversity and inclusion through to modern slavery and child labour.

Protect nature - our world’s biodiversity is threatened, and because more than half of the world’s total GDP is dependent on nature, businesses today face many risks. We help organisations understand their dependencies and impact on nature across their value chain, and help them shape nature-positive strategies.

Turn data into insights - we use a suite of services and cutting edge analytics to help our clients collect data, report effectively and evaluate insights to make better sustainability-related decisions.

Working in Sustainability you’ll maximise the opportunities to change and create value at speed, for our clients and our communities, with the care and imagination it takes to lead for the future. Together we can build good business for a stronger world.

Our vision is to be the leading provider of trust and insight across the marketing and media world. We help marketers and media owners transform their businesses through marketing effectiveness and optimising media (advertising) spend and sales.

Examples of our Marketing and Media services include:

  • improving marketing effectiveness by optimising allocations between price, promotions, sponsorship, and offline and online advertising

  • analysing whether media (advertising) agencies have delivered the right price and quality of advertising

  • helping clients navigate the complexities of digital advertising

  • working with media owners to help them understand their audiences across different platforms, and use that insight to drive content commissioning and advertising sales.

Data is at the heart of everything that we do within the Customer Insights team and we are passionate about delivering insights that help our clients solve their most important problems and grow their business. Our team combines data science and commercial expertise with a customer-centric approach.

We enable clients to gain value from their data by using intelligent data science techniques and advanced analytics to extract actionable insights. We empower them to make data-led, strategic and tactical decisions that maximise growth.

We work with clients all over the globe and across multiple industries such as retail, consumer products, real estate, smart cities, financial services, sports, leisure and hospitality.

Our team has backgrounds in data science, data engineering, machine learning engineering, client industry, and consulting. Working within Customer Insight, you will have the opportunity to develop market leading products and services at pace and at scale.

Our services include helping clients to:

  • identify and understand their key customer segments based on their preferences and behaviours

  • develop strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones

  • Identify which customer journeys/interactions drive more revenue and/or profitability

  • assess or predict the impact of operational or strategic changes

  • measure the effectiveness of their advertising and prioritise marketing investment with the highest return

  • identify customers who are most likely to be interested in a given promotional campaign to enable targeted email marketing

  • develop recommender systems that identify products that their customers may be interested in based on their purchase history or items in customers’ current basket

  • evaluate how opening of new stores can affect performance of existing stores and online sales

  • optimise pricing of services (such as delivery)

  • forecast sales, the number of customers, visitors and other KPIs.

Enterprise Business Applications (EBA) provides confidence to organisations going through business and technology change. Specialising in helping mid-sized, UK based organisations, we use our expertise to navigate complex and challenging transformation programmes, based on Microsoft, SAGE and Netsuite technology solutions.

You will help organisations manage the risks and opportunities associated with their technology:

  • advise on how to set an IT strategy fit for business in the digital world

  • analyse large volumes of data in order to inform decision making - this will include the use of data transformation and visualisation technologies

  • review and improve how projects and business transformations are delivered

  • advise how to make organisations more effective through improvement of their business processes, supported by the right technology

  • help clients understand opportunities from emerging technology, including the use of advanced analytics.
