Working in FS BRC

On our FS BRC programme, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients across the Banking, Insurance and Asset Wealth Management sectors.The world is becoming increasingly complex, regulation and technology is disrupting almost every aspect of how organisations operate, and the pace of change is unprecedented.

Organisations have to be more aware of, and responsive to, the risks and opportunities facing them. Governance, risk and controls is a board level topic and offers a diverse and purposeful career. In the initial years of the Financial Services - Business, Risk and Controls pathway you'll be deeply involved in understanding and assessing a client’s business from a financial, regulatory and operational risk perspective and identifying the related mitigation techniques needed to ensure the business strategy can be successful and resilient.

The FS BRC experience

You'll work in supportive teams alongside experienced professionals, gaining insights into how organisations operate. You'll develop your professional skills and expertise, learning to provide advice and assurance to Boards and Executive teams while assessing and implementing risk, regulatory, and reporting strategies across the three lines of defence. Our specialised training programme will help you build the skills needed to grow your career as a risk specialist.

Within FS BRC, you'll experience different areas of our practice and all three industry sectors: Insurance, Banking, and Asset Wealth Management. You'll participate in projects focused on resilience, change, internal audit, conduct regulation, and prudential regulation. This diverse experience will provide you with a broad and agile skill set, essential for our business growth.

Joining as a graduate

You’ll develop a breadth and depth of business advisor core skills and understanding of frameworks through exposure to a variety of businesses and financial services sectors. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of organisations (including international, national and local clients) and wider stakeholders in the economy including the government and regulators.

You’ll also work towards the Chartered Accountant (ACA/CA) qualification with the option to review whether you wish to continue your studies after the first year.
